In late 2024, the Officer of Inspector General (OIG) released its first compliance guidelines for nursing homes in over 25 years. The Industry-Specific Compliance Program Guidance (ISCPG) builds on the General Compliance Program Guidance (GCPG) from late 2023. Key changes include the incorporation of risk assessments, emphasis on resident safety and quality, enhanced oversight and leadership expectations, and a clearer role for compliance officers.
