Personal and Home Care Aides
Personal and home care aides provide valuable personal care to clients in their home or independent living communities. Duties would vary depending on the resident, but may include assisting in personal tasks, performing basic medical services and helping with household services.
Training Requirements:
- Typically requires High School degree or equivalent
- 18 hours of initial training in a variety of topics designated by state regulations
- 16 hours continuing education each year in a variety of topics designated by state regulations

Nursing Directors & Coordinators
MDS Coordinator
The MDS (Minimum Data Set) Coordinator is responsible for accurately assessing residents' needs and ensuring a person centered care plan is implemented for each resident. The MDS coordinator is an important part of a community's interdisciplinary team and helps drive accurate reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid payment systems.

- On-the-Job training and supervisory experience (typically 3-5 years depending on the community)

The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing the entire nursing department and works closely with the Administrator to ensure the care needs of each resident are met. The DON manages the nursing team and oversees operations of the department.

- Supervisory experience and on the job training required. Typically 3-5 years (depending on the community)
- Experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing is preferred.
