POSITION SUMMARY:
The Residency Counselor will ensure that a positive, professional image is presented to prospective residents and their families and is responsible for representing the community throughout the sales and decision-making process in order to meet or exceed the sales and census goals of the Community.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle all inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Manage the sales process from first inquiry to receipt of deposit to move-in. Develop relationships through the representation and promotion of the community to prospects and influencers.
- Initiate ongoing contact with prospective residents via telephone, email, personal visits, tours, and home visit activities as appropriate to facilitate the selling process.
- Counsel and advise prospective residents, depositors, family members and key influencers regarding levels of living, community features, services and amenities and the variety of available housing options.
- Document all information and communication relating to the prospective resident/inquiry with timely recording in lead management system.
- Display a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of all marketing materials, residency contracts and related documents, as well as community amenities and services, to enable effective communication with prospective residents and influencers.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding and the ability to effectively communicate all aspects of the organization’s financial qualifying requirements as well as the conditions of occupancy to prospective residents, depositors, their families and potential professional referral sources.
- Assist in the development, coordination and participation of community marketing events throughout the year.
- Coordinate communication with all necessary parties to facilitate a timely and appropriate sales and move-in process with the Move-In Coordinator and other members of the sales team.
- Actively contribute and provide input in the development and research of the community's sales strategies and plans.
- Achieve sales and occupancy goals as outlined by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Meet lead contact goals as outlined by the Director of Sales and Marketing(i.e. scheduling appointments, visits and tours, appropriate and timely follow-up)
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all community team members. Assume responsibilities for personal work areas and maintaining those areas in a presentable manner.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on the needs of the community. Hours may involve weekends and evenings. Limited travel may also be involved.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree
- Two-three years in a medium size office operation; proficient in Microsoft Office 365. Ability to learn sales management software and financial software.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Three-five years ina medium size operation.

Language Ability:
- This position requires the ability to read, comprehend and retain instructions that apply to work procedures; communicate effectively with people of all professional and social levels; must be able to see and read instructions; ability to hear normal volume sounds and voice patterns with constant background noise; must be able to receive and follow verbal and written instructions; must be able to read regular and small size print.
- This individual must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner in order to communicate with residents, employees, family members, volunteers and the public.
Math Ability:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and units of money.
Reasoning Ability:
- Must be able to remember multiple assignments over an extended period of time. This position is subject to frequent interruptions. Must have the ability to appropriately perceive and respond to an emergency situation.
Computer Skills:
- Demonstrate computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft Office programs. Ability to learn SHERPA CRM and FinAid software.
