The Director of Finance will be part of a team that strives to provide unmatched 5-star senior care in accordance with our mission by focusing on patient and residents’ needs and incorporating best practices in all areas of our community. 


The Director of Finance is the senior finance leader and will plan and direct all financial and accounting activities.  The Director of Finance will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and have a dotted line reporting responsibility to the Board of Directors.  The Director of Finance will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of financial records, financial statements, accounts payable, account receivable valuation, internal and external financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

The Director of Finance will communicate identified problem areas to appropriate executives ensuring that reporting is accurate and timely.  The Director of Finance will ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met with all internal and external auditors and agencies.

 

The Director of Finance is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Controller and Director of Revenue and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with HFSL’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  The ability to lead and motivate a team is required. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

·       Bachelor's degree (B.S) in Accounting, Finance or related degree. 

·       CPA and/or master’s degree preferred.  

·       5 years of senior level financial management experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care settings. 

·       Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement, SNF accounting principles, budgeting, financial reporting, and relevant regulations.

·       The equivalent combination of education and experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.  

Other Requirements:

·       Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.  Point Click Care preferred. 

·       Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

·       Must be able to communicate accounting/financial reports, policies, procedures, reports, etc., to Board, employees and government agencies as required.
