Assistant Controller

Garden Spot Village, part of Garden Spot Communities, is currently seeking an Assistant Controller for Full Time Day shift working 8am-4pm.

What will I do in this role with Garden Spot?

  • Complies with established policies and procedures and maintains established standards and practices including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct.
  • Follows Residents' Rights policies at all times.
  • Oversight of the Accounts Payable and Payroll functions within the Finance Department.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Accounting.
  • Prepare various payroll related submissions, including Payroll Based Journals for CMS, and internal statistics on labor for management reporting.
  • Assist with the Month-End Close process and ensure coordination with Finance Department staff to meet deadlines.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating internal controls, financial policies, and procedures in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Prepare workpapers and details for auditors and manage the audit process as assigned.
  • Support the CFO with the annual budget process and other strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

What do I need for this role with Garden Spot?

  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a Senior Living or Healthcare environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close processes, payroll, financial reporting, and audits.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of computer proficiency, including familiarity with accounting software systems.
