Barclay Friends Announces $100K Challenge Grant to Complete $1.5M Campaign for Goshen Memory Care Residences
West Chester, PA (April 3, 2025) —Barclay Friends-A Kendal Affiliate, a highly regarded not-for-profit organization and trusted name in care for older adults in the West Chester, Pa., community, recently opened the new Goshen Memory Care residence at a cost of $3.3 million, using $1.8 million of reserves on hand and the proceeds of a $1.5 million capital campaign.
A Challenge Grant has been established to raise the final $200,000 of the $1.5 million capital campaign. Three dedicated contributors created a $100,000 challenge fund that will match contributions dollar for dollar to raise the final $200,000.
The new Goshen Memory Care Residences feature 24 state-of-the-art apartments designed to meet the growing demand for dedicated memory care in the West Chester area. The project has responded to the heightened need for more memory care solutions, as confirmed by market analysis, which identified a substantial gap in available opportunities for families seeking care for loved ones experiencing dementia or other memory issues.
Why This Campaign Matters
This initiative not only addresses a critical need but also reinforces Barclay Friends’ commitment to compassionate care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other neurodegenerative conditions.
The community is coming together to raise the final $100,000 match needed to reach the fundraising goal. Every dollar raised will continue to ensure this vital service is available for future generations.
"Every act of generosity today ensures compassionate care for generations to come. Together, we’re shaping a future where every individual, regardless of memory challenges, can thrive in a supportive, dignified environment,” shares a long-time donor and proud supporter of Barclay Friends.
Key Benefits of the Goshen Memory Care Residences
