January 31, 2025

(Newtown Square, Pa.) — The White Horse Village Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting White Horse Village, is proud to announce significant achievements in appreciating and supporting its dedicated team. Through generous donations, the Foundation has distributed substantial financial awards and scholarships. These efforts underscore the Foundation's commitment to enhancing the well-being and fostering the professional growth of the hardworking team members.

Employee Appreciation Fund receives record donations

Initiated by residents to express gratitude to non-salaried team members, the Employee Appreciation Fund provides end-of-year bonuses, as tipping or gifting is not permitted within the community. The 2024 campaign successfully raised nearly $194,000, reflecting the residents' deep appreciation for the team's unwavering commitment to excellent service. Two hundred seventy-two team members received awards, with the highest award amounting to $1,154, based on hours worked in 2024.

New support programs introduced in 2024

The Foundation established additional programs to assist team members further, including:

  • Team Member Emergency Assistance Program: This program, designed to ease financial hardships arising from short-term emergencies, offers crucial support to team members during unforeseen challenges.

  • Chester Creek Educational Endowment Fund: This fund supports the professional development of healthcare team members, enabling them to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Robert J. Bruce Memorial Award: In honor of the late Robert J. Bruce—a former resident and dedicated chair of both the Endowment Fund and the Foundation for eight years—this award supports the professional development of full-time team members who exemplify his values of collaborative leadership, inclusiveness, selflessness, and community building.

"At White Horse Village, our team members are the heart and soul of our community," says Susan Abtouche, Vice President of Mission Enhancement and Executive Director of the White Horse Village Foundation, Inc. "The overwhelming support from our residents, exemplified by the record-breaking contributions to the Employee Appreciation Fund and the establishment of new support programs, underscores our collective commitment to fostering a nurturing and empowering environment for our hardworking team."

“This year, the Foundation is steadfast in its dedication to supporting our team members,” comments Bud Billups, Foundation chair. “We have set an ambitious goal to raise $200,000 for the Employee Appreciation Fund and to bolster contributions to our team member support programs. These initiatives recognize and assist our dedicated team, ensuring they receive the appreciation and support they deserve.”
