LeadingAge PA Announces 2025 Internship Grant Recipients

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (October 1, 2024)LeadingAge PA, a trade association representing over 400 high-quality and mission-driven aging services providers across the Commonwealth, is excited to announce that eight of its member providers have been awarded grants to provide paid internships, giving students invaluable hands-on experience in aging services.

Each recipient of the grant will receive $6,000 to fund an intern for a period of eight to 10 weeks. The Internship Grant Program is designed to cultivate future leaders in aging services by offering students the opportunity to explore rewarding career paths and gain valuable insights into this rapidly growing sector.

"As we continue to address the evolving needs of our aging population, it is crucial to invest in the next generation of professionals,” said LeadingAge PA President and CEO Garry Pezzano. “Supporting opportunities such as these internships is essential for building a pipeline of talented individuals dedicated to enhancing the quality of care for older adults across Pennsylvania.”

Internship opportunities funded by this grant enable students to explore fields such as healthcare administration, social work, nursing, rehabilitation services, and more.

  • Acts Retirement-Life Communities
  • Homewood Retirement Centers, Inc.
  • Bradford Ecumenical Home, Inc.
  • Laurel View Village
  • Vincentian
  • Luthercare
  • Waverly Heights

 The Internship Grant Program is part of LeadingAge PA's ongoing commitment to strengthening the aging services sector through career development, education, advocacy, and other supports.
