Messiah Lifeways® to develop a new vibrant retirement community in York County, bordering Cumberland County

July 30, 2024

MECHANICSBURG, PA— Messiah Lifeways has begun marketing for its new campus for those
aged 62 or better, Fernecrest, with preparations to break ground on the picturesque 85-acre farmland

property in October.

The Fernecrest campus, located in York County at 100 Spanglers Mill Road, will feature 15 floor
plans ranging from apartments to courtyard homes, cottages, and estate homes. Surrounded by scenic
views and woodlands, the community will offer modern floor plans and engaging amenities while

being located only five minutes from downtown Camp Hill.

In addition to 131 residential living units, the initial construction phase will feature key amenities
including outdoor walking trails, a cafe-style restaurant and lounge serving New American cuisine, a
fitness center, and prime access to the Yellow Breeches Creek for fishing and kayaking adventures.
“The ongoing Fernecrest project is our greatest testament to our commitment to growth—one of the
three key focuses of our strategic plan,” said Alicia Titus, Messiah Lifeways’ Chief Experience
Officer. “We anticipate the work we’re doing with Fernecrest will expand our mission—providing
current and future residents with a unique living experience that leverages amenities while offering

access to the security of our acclaimed healthcare continuum.”

The Messiah Village campus, located a convenient 10-minute shuttle ride away in Mechanicsburg,
will not only provide Fernecrest resident with access the Messiah Lifeways care continuum, but also
its spa, wellness programs, more dining options, and engaging lifelong learning classes with the

Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning®.

“We look forward to breaking ground on this community in the fall and expanding our reach to serve

more older adults in the area,” President and CEO Karl Brummer said.
