appointment of Michael Shaw as the new President & CEO, effective
December 1, 2023. The decision follows a national search that involved careful consideration and interviews with numerous qualified candidates.
Shaw is excited to join a community grounded in such strong mission, vision, and values. “I’m confident in White Horse Village’s ability to build on its history and reputation as one of the top senior living communities in the region, and I believe we are in a strategic position to take advantage of more opportunities for growth in the coming year,” comments Shaw.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Michael Shaw brings a deep background in senior living management,
spanning an impressive 25-year leadership career. He points to his early experiences as a family caregiver
and senior living volunteer as the sparks that ignited his lifelong passion for working with older adults.
Shaw has held leadership roles in senior living in multiple locations, successfully managing nonprofit life
plan communities within the large networks of Erickson, Westminster Communities of Florida and
Pinnacle Living communities in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Texas, Kansas and Florida.
His calm and steady leadership capabilities have been particularly evident during challenging times, such
as successfully steering a community through a $90 million Master Plan expansion during the height of
the COVID-19 pandemic. He has a proven track record for building genuine relationships with residents,
team members and strategic partners.

specific nonprofit senior living experience and approach to leadership set him apart from the other

Shaw is known for his approachable combination of servant leadership, systems thinking and fostering
collaboration. His commitment to transparency and data-driven decision-making aligns seamlessly with
White Horse Village's values. Shaw’s continuous pursuit of educational opportunities, including previous
certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Action Pact Choreography of Culture Change, Eden Alternative and
Pennsylvania Personal Care Home Administrator (PCHA), reflects his dedication to professional growth
and excellence. Additionally, he is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Virginia and Florida.
