LeadingAge PA Awards Nearly $40,000 in Professional Development Scholarships to 33 Deserving Employees at Member Communities
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Aug. 24, 2023) — LeadingAge PA, the leading voice for senior services across Pennsylvania, today announced it has awarded 33 scholarships totaling nearly $40,000 through its 2023 Professional Development Scholarship program. The scholarship recipients are all employed at aging services organizations across the state and are pursuing a variety of degrees, certificates and continuing education credits that will help them better serve Pennsylvania's aging population.
LeadingAge PA is dedicated to the education and workforce enhancement efforts of member communities and, to date, has awarded nearly $600,000 through scholarship and internship programs. The Professional Development Scholarships are awarded to staff at member communities to enhance educational opportunities as they further their careers in senior services.
“Retaining and growing qualified workers is essential to our ability to continue serving seniors in Pennsylvania for many years to come,” said Garry Pezzano, LeadingAge PA president and CEO. “We are proud to offer this scholarship program to assist our members in furthering their education and growing the aging services workforce.
