National Director of Education

Dr. Kathleen Weissberg has over 30 years of experience as a practitioner, researcher, and educator in rehabilitation and long-term care. She obtained her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 1993 and her doctoral degree in 2014. Throughout her career, she has developed numerous programs for nursing facilities and authored peer-reviewed publications on subjects such as low vision, quality care for individuals with dementia, and wellness.

As the National Director of Education for Select Rehabilitation, Dr. Weissberg provides continuing education support to over 17,000 therapists, nurses, and administrators across the country. She has presented at national and international conferences for more than 20 State Health Care Associations and over 25 state affiliates of LeadingAge.

Dr. Weissberg is a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner, a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Practitioner, and a Certified Fall Prevention Specialist. She also serves as the Region 1 Director for the American Occupational Therapy Association's Political Affairs Affiliates and is an adjunct professor at Gannon University in Erie, PA.
