This session will reinforce that stress is inevitable and in fast-paced, high-demand places of work, feelings of anxiety, burnout, and fatigue are present. Mindfulness practices are easy and effective and can be built into the workday without a reduction in productivity for the purpose of a focused, productive response to situations beyond one’s control.

Rebecca Lassell PhD, OTR/LRebecca (Becca) Lassell is an occupational therapist and postdoctoral associate at the NYU, Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Becca is passionate about tailoring valued activities to match a person’s interests, functional capacities, and needs to support their brain health and function. Her research interests include nonpharmacological interventions, nature-based approaches, health equity, palliative care, home health services, and hospice. Her work addresses issues of inclusion, participation, quality of life, and access to meaningful activities. She is currently co-designing two culturally tailored green activity prescription programs for people living with memory loss, one for Chinese Americans and their care partners in Brooklyn (funded under U54MD000538) and another for Hispanic/Latino groups in the Bronx funded by the American Federation for Aging Research (A23-0142-001).
