Alternatives to Guardianship and Act 61: What You Need to Know

Legislation and grant-funded projects have helped improve the guardianship process in Pennsylvania Courts, enhancing access to due process and promoting alternatives to guardianship. It is essential to seek guardianship for an individual only as a last resort. This session will highlight the alternatives to guardianship outlined in Act 61 of 2023 and explain how these options can provide individuals with the assistance they need while preserving their autonomy and decision-making abilities as much as possible.
