CMI-The Effect on Your CHC Rates for the New Year-Webinar

Participants will gain an understanding of the case mix index (CMI) system, how acuity is calculated, and the renewed impact it will have on calculating Medical Assistance (MA) reimbursement rates for Pennsylvania nursing facilities (NF) moving forward. Beginning January 1, 2023 and adjusted quarterly, the CMI will effect your NF reimbursement rates - a change that will require a team approach including admissions, nursing, finance, and administration. We will provide an overview of the current case-mix reimbursement methodology, RUG classifications, and discuss how clinical documentation and service delivery captured on assessment is used to generate PA MA rates.
