Enacted in 1968 to prevent housing discrimination based on race, color, national origin, or religion, the Fair Housing Act's (FHA) protected class coverage has expanded to include sex, familial status, and importantly, disability (among others).
Representatives from Caring Communities will explore best practices, insights, and lessons learned related to sales and marketing, application materials, and resident contracts for independent living. The presenters will also discuss strategies for compliance regarding specific disabilities such as deafness, hard of hearing, or speech impairments.
