Lois Murphy

Lois Murphy is a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Montgomery County, where she serves as the Administrative Judge of the Orphans’ Court Division. This division is responsible for approving adoptions and handling a variety of matters, including the termination of parental rights, guardianships, will contests, trust and estate issues, as well as matters related to minor estates and non-profit organizations.

Judge Murphy is the chair of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Advisory Council on Elder Justice in the Courts, as well as the Orphans’ Court Section of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges. Additionally, she has served as the co-chair of the Pennsylvania Courts Working Group on Public Access.
